Another difficult page – I’m beginning to resign myself to the idea that I’ve just made all my pages more difficult by not entirely setting the comic in some sort of blurry grey fog, but oh well.
Also, re: the manhole cover fiasco, I’d like to point out a few major points that I feel were overlooked when the discussion emerged speculating why Rhea’s neck didn’t immediately snap under the weight of it:
1) Rhea does not actually have a neck under that scarf.
2) Rhea is distantly related to Rocky Wrench.
3) Rhea is a teenage mutant ninja turtle.
…but… you know, seriously, I will fix that when I have time. Manhole cover research fail, I totally admit it.

Don’t worry about the manhole cover too much ^^ Given enough fans with enough free time some minor errors will be discovered every now and then. We still love your art ^^
Leilea
Agreed. The overall product is exceptional and most of enjoying it too much to notice minor flaws.
Kyethn
Nice of you both to say, though I do appreciate the error-flagging as a whole. 🙂 I think quite a few people noticed the complete disregard of gravity in the last page when I hadn’t even considered it as an issue. Derp derp

And here I thought she was lifting the manhole with her arm (which still makes her really strong, but whatever). I missed the whole it was all on her head thing.
It’s interesting how people don’t take issue with magic, such as Adrianna’s burning “nothing” (when flames are clearly the result of a combustion reaction), but they will over other things. Maybe it’s physics vs. chemistry?
Honestly, I love it all. Including the manhole head-shot! And of course, part of what makes magic so cool is being able to burn nothing.
Fleece
Magic, by definition, is a procedure of defying the laws of nature. So it is perfectly logical to except everything that isn´t magical to apply to normal laws of nature and accept everything that is magical not to apply to those rules.
Haha, that would have been the sneakiest way ever to hint that a character actually manifests magical super-strenght: able to easily lift a manhole cover with her head. 😀
Wait, now I have talked myself into believing that was really what happened there! XD

Hmm, I wonder what Rhea was saying in her cut off panel. Perhaps something like, “I swear, if we’re going to need you to find your brother” or, ” If we didn’t need you to find your brother”, followed by “Don’t push your luck, as well as my own.” or … I don’t know.
Also, I assume Adrianna’s attention is drawn to the back of the long black haired head?
Kyethn
Not quite! But you’re sort of getting there. Sort of. And yes, she’s looking at the black haired person.
OneWingedAngel
Is it “I swear, if we didn’t need you to talk to your brother, I’d push you down a well myself!”
(considering she shoved Adrianna off a cliff a few months ago, I wouldn’t put it past her!)
OneWingedAngel
Derp, that’s what I get for not reading all the comments before I leave one of my own…
Ink
Please let Rhea be saying something like, “I swear, if we didn’t need you to find your brother, I would push you down a well.”
Also, heeeyyyyy it’s the (good?) captain.
Kyethn
Correct! That is pretty much exactly what she’s saying. “I swear, if we didn’t need you to talk to your brother, I would push you down a well myself.”
And yes, yes it is. I think you win the astute commenter award.
Ink
:O YAY! An award! I love awards.
JPdelatorre
I second that.
Also, love the idea of hiding the bubble behind the margin, it gives the feeling of a half heard sentence more than any other artifact I’ve seen.
Kosake
Aye, most creative and effective solution. If there is something like a textbook on (web)comic drawing, this should definitely become a paragraph…
Secret
Hmm, I wonder how that conversation would go if she were with either of the other two.
Adrianna: This is insane.
Bracken: …
A: Where are we, even?
B: …
A: How are we-
B: [SIDEGLARE]
A: This is insane.
G: I know.
A: Where are we, even?
G: Look, if you hold on for a couple minutes-
A: Oh, not that again…
knorq
“Sideglare,” indeed.

All this talk about man-holes and their various covers reminds me of a joke I once heard about a serving of sole at a boarding school… “these ARE soles?!?”
Let’s just leave it at that.
But hey, the fix is easy, just change the (very nice-looking) metal sheen on the man-hole cover (to something that can let us see how it’s made out of wood – and hence, weighs only as much as a duck.
kayakninja
But if it weighs as much as a duck, then it’s a witch and needs to be burned! Also floats, which may be a problem.
KCM
Oo, yeah! I like the wood idea, w/bonus points for snazzy in-world reasons for same. (Aha, maybe the Resistance has installed fake manhole covers, with a veneer of metal, to aid their comings and goings? No editing necessary?) I confess, it bothered me a bit too – but the “peeking out from under manhole” seems so iconic, it’s probably at least covered by Rule of Funny, if nothing else.
Or it could be made of very small rocks, though in that case the floating problem might still apply…

Your style… it’s only now hitting me… your style is unlike any other I’ve ever seen. The faces, the backgrounds, the clothes, the colors, the EVERYTHING. It’s beautiful in a way I’ve never even seen.
Shadow
Reading a comic on an Android is annoying, believe me.
Yet I persisted, finishing your awesome comic although it was annoying.
I felt kinda cheated by the lack of some steampunk elements but the intriguing story and wonderfull art more than made up for it.
Keep going I’d say.

You know, it’s when people say “stop asking questions” that you really should be asking questions, that’s a sure sign that something has gone bad (erm, badder than this whole thing is already anyway XD ).
