Wow, sorry for the mega-late update. I don’t think I’ve done a Tuesday update in a while. Anyway, it was not for lack of trying, this page ate up all of my free time from last Wednesday through to right this second. So many redrawn figures. So much discarded inking. At some points I was just like… how do faces work again? What is colour? It was a bit mad. I guess I’m still a little rusty.

Anyway, that is actually the end of the chapter. I need a day off, so no update this Friday, but we’ll be back to it next week.

In other news, Poor Wayfaring Strangers is still kickstarting! For anyone who missed it last week, it’s a wild west anthology I contributed a story to, and would dearly love to see in print.

At this point we’re closing in on the last third of the campaign, and it’s still looking shy of hitting the funding target. If you’ve ever been on the lookout for a way to support me, or indeed any of the other fantastic webcomickers and artists involved in this, please consider chipping in to get yourself a copy. It would mean a hell of a lot to me, and the book simply won’t happen if we don’t have your support.

    Is this a traditional art comic, digital art, or digital-traditional comic? The coloring is really well done!

      The whole comic is done digitally – at the moment I use Photoshop and a Cintiq tablet, but in the past I’ve used Manga Studio, as well as traditional pencils, and sometimes even a mouse, haha. Thanks very much!

      Just being involved in this Kickstarter (my first, it is scary) has been pretty helpful in terms of getting an idea for doing my own some day. I have a lot of respect for the effort Erin has put into making this thing happen, it’s a crazy amount of work. Cheers for the support! 🙂

        but being captured with our dear captain nearby can’t be good.

    Then again, The Captain doesn’t need to be so cunning. She just needs to do her job.

    I’m sorry to have missed the Kickstarter, I have read and enjoyed Next Town Over and Alpha Flag in the past, and have slowly binged my way through your archives for the last few weeks, so I’m a fan of at least three of those artists involved; I definitely would have contributed.

    Relevant to the page above, this whole scene/sequence has been both calm (with an undercurrent of perceived menace/skulduggery) and rather frantic, mostly due to the dramatic circumstances that Captain Samara finds herself in. I have to wonder, was this whole “spot & capture” a setup from the Triarch, or is it (amazingly) mere coincidence?
