Not ringing any bells there, E.

That’s a wrap for this scene, and chapter 1 of this second arc! I’m really happy with this page turned out and how the art’s going in general. I’m especially enjoying drawing Ezius, but we’ll be moving to a completely different locale and set of characters in chapter 2, so that should be fun.

The keen-eyed amongst you may have noticed a few changes to the site, namely that the comic has gained about 100px in width and height. I thought this would look better in general, so I’m slowly rolling it out through the archive. Additionally, the first 11 pages (i.e. the prologue) of the first arc have been updated with edited art at the larger page size, and I think it’s a huge improvement. This is part of a medium-term plan to update the older pages in preparation for doing a book (yes!) so stay tuned for more news on that. In the meantime, enjoy the improved art.

Finally, the update day for the comic has changed from Monday to Tuesday. RMR almost always ends up updating on Tuesday due to my own personal schedule, so this basically just makes it official.

The Zombie Hunters Kickstarter has less than two days left on it! I’m happy to say they’ve made their goal, so if you want to get a book from them it’s a good time to jump on board.

  1. Does Saiamar actually know Adrianna? It’s apparent that he knew who Lethe was, but Lethe didn’t know him (page 144ish).

Also, I think my favourite thing about this comic is the lighting, because Ezius in the last panel…

    1. Indeed, Saiamar and Adrianna haven’t met. Ezius is probably going to be disappointed.

And thank you! I had so much fun doing the lighting. I think it only came together in the last few pages for this scene, but I learned so much in this chapter about colouring.

  2. Adrianna left without her nephew? That’s almost disappointing, but knowing Adrianna’s luck that’s probably for the best.

    1. Well, who knows what happened in the turmoil after that scene? And why should Airin leave his mom with a person he doesn´t know?

  3. The light is great. Especially last panel is awesome. I´m really into that new style!

    1. Thanks! I feel like I’m really settling into it now.

  4. In all honesty, and coming from someone who draws, your webcomic is the most beautiful of any I’ve seen that is 1) not abandoned and 2) really interesting (and moving) beyond the eye candy. Even without the restrictions, it is a serious contender.
I think the previous chapter will stick in my head forever.

    Sooooo … thank you. Really.

    1. Wow… thank you. I don’t think I can express how much that means to me. You know, I work very hard on every aspect of this comic for very little money, but the point always was to tell a really good story, hopefully one that resonates with at least a few people.

Whether I’m succeeding is, I’m sure, a matter of opinion! But I love doing this, and I love finding new ways to draw and write better. This medium is a joy, and I feel very lucky to be able to share my work like this. So thank you for reading!

  5. The colors just amaze me every time I check for a page. They give such an impression of lushness and beauty.

Although, at my age, *cough 44 *cough*, it gets a bit tricky to keep it all straight in my head, so the news of a book actually made me squeee out loud, lol!

  6. Holy crap. This is an amazing comic O.O I must have more in my eyeballs.

  7. Kickarse colour schemes here, dearie!!

  8. Overall, I really like this comic. Good story, well done art, and you’ve obviously not only put a lot of thought into your characters but your art as well. The improvement between the beginning of the comic and now is very apparent. So good to see people continue to improve their craft.
