Chapter: Part 2 - Chapter 3
That face ain’t gonna stay pretty for long at this rate.
Anyway, chapter cover next week. See you on Friday!
No “thok” this week. Only “ghk”. Sorry!
— I’ve been trying out some different background drawing methods that are a bit more viable with the Cintiq. For whatever reason I always found doing lineart for architecture was incredibly tedious using a regular tablet, but I’m rather getting into it now! This page is fairly minimal in that regard(mostly due to the weather conditions) but I’m looking forward to exploring it more in the future.
The colouring was fun this week too, it’s sort of interesting trying to vary up the colours while still sticking to a very narrow palette.
Eyes on the road, Galak!
— I think “thok” is my favourite sound effect. It’s so multi-purpose. Anyway, yeah! Two updates in a row! How about that. The new tablet’s working out pretty great, I’m making much better time on both the sketching and inking now, which is something I’ve been trying to figure out for years, literally. Oh tablet, just marry me.
I should have said this weeks ago as well, but if anything on the site is looking weird(except the archive, I’ll update that this week) please leave a comment or email me or something. I’m still pretty sure everything’s fixed now, but you never know.
Is anyone else watching the French Open? Let’s be tennis buddies
Good thing no one in this comic can hit anything with a crossbow.
— Bloody hell, past-me sure picked a great moment in the script to develop back pain. I had forgotten that I stopped right before a stupid complicated fight scene. Screw you, past-me!
So it was a slightly bumpy reintroduction to comic drawing after six months off, but I think it came out well in the end, and I managed not to re-injure anything in the process, so that’s good. I think I had more announcements, but I’m going to go have a sit down instead. Until next Friday!
Right! Phew. So the website was seriously broken for about a week there, and not for lack of effort on the part of myself and my hard-working host. It was a bit of a parade of unfortunate circumstances and bad luck, and we did lose some data – unfortunately any comments made since April 29th are lost to the digital aether. It was looking for a while like that would be more like six months worth of posts and comments gone, though, so I think I can live with this.
Moving on to a more positive note, updates are going to resume in less than a week, on Friday the 29th of May with Friday being the update day for the foreseeable future. It’s taken a while to get back on track after my back issues, but I’m feeling good and I have a new drawing tablet. Time to comic!
In the meantime, enjoy this incredible art from an anonymous friend of mine. You know who you are, you wonderful person.
Hey guys! The good news is I’m not dead, and the further good news is that I’ve seen a physiotherapist about my back and it seems like it’s a fixable, posture-related issue, rather than something much more chronic, which was my concern for quite a while. I’m currently stretching the wonkiness away, and it seems to be working.
I still don’t have a date for when updates will resume, but they will resume. I’m slowly getting used to working at the computer again, and I’ve been doing a bunch of writing and others bits and bobs for RMR during all of this downtime, so I should be able to hit the ground running!
In the meantime, this wonderful piece of art was provided by my very talented friend Matt Davis. Thanks, Matt. 🙂
Hey guys, sorry for missing the previous update, and sorry to say there probably won’t be an update this week either. I’ve done something or other to my lower back and I haven’t been able to sit at my computer for at least a week now, which is obviously problematic in terms of drawing a digital comic.
I’ve got a doctor’s appointment soon, but in the meantime thanks for bearing with me. I know there have been a lot of stops and starts with this comic, particularly over the last couple of years (this one is especially rubbish considering today is my birthday, dammit) but I’m still committed to making this story happen, even if my body isn’t entirely as on board as I am. 🙂 New pages soon, hopefully!

— New fanart of the rebels this week, by the lovely Saraiza! Thank you very much! 🙂
