Hey! Important news! Myself and quite a lot of other webcomickers have recently participated in the Comic Creator’s Alliance, a charity initiative headed up by Lora Innes. From the site:

“There are currently 27 million enslaved people worldwide- more than double the number of enslaved Africans during the trans-Atlantic slave trade. UNICEF estimates that 1.2 million children every year are sold into slavery, most of it sexual. The US Department of Justice estimates 16,000 victims of human trafficking are brought into the United States every year.

The idea for this alliance is to create one image from many artists! Each comic creator who has agreed to participate has volunteered to provide a drawing of one of their female characters. We will be compiling these images into one single wallpaper image, available for download after people donate to the cause! The hope is that readers will be excited to participate in our donations drive, and that the wallpaper idea will be used to generate interest in the project! All of your favorite characters on one screen!”

The wallpaper will be available on January 11th, and hopefully some of you will consider donating towards what is a really good cause. I’ll be mentioning it again once the 11th rolls round – cheers to Lora for organising the whole thing. 🙂

And in less important news, cover! Painted, because that seems like the thing to do with covers, and I do like painting. I think I learned a few things while working on the concept art updates and that made this a whole lot more fun to work on. Speaking of, the concept art I posted over christmas will be removed from the archive soon (they’re not Red Moon Rising related, after all), so have a look while you can.

  1. Wow, good cause. That’s pretty badass. I will be waiting around for Jan 11th.

    1. Great! Glad to hear it. 🙂

  2. It’s the colonel! I love his mutton-chop cheeks… I want to call him chops now.
Can I call the colonel Chops?

    1. You can call him anything you like, though I imagine he could crush your face with his mind.

  3. I wonder, whether there’s some rank insignia on that uniform. The clamp of the cape could be someting like that, but there should be something else on the jacket too. Not necessarily visible with the cape on though.

    1. Usually he has pips on his collar to represent rank, though often it’s hard to see them or I just forget to draw them in because I suck. The clasp is just a general insignia, all military personnel have it on their armbands.

  4. The clamp is the some symbol as the one that appeared on mr IronHands jacket I think 0ô

(needless to say that the art is awesome is as awesome as we are used from Kyethn, isn’t it?)

    1. I think we need something like a buzzer button on this page. Whenever we need to say something like “nice picture, great art, cool effect…” etc. we just hit the buzzer and write the rest of the comment.

      1. Maaan, you guys are lazy. I can’t tell whether this is a good thing or a bad thing.

    2. The clasp is the same insignia they all have on their armbands, it’s just a general symbol of the military. Also, whoo. 🙂
