  1. Does he want to stay in Imara because of Ren?
And the fish is back – is that Adriana or Lethe stepping in the pool? Or is it Airin? I guess we’ll find out soon – we’re finding out lots of stuff!

  2. Is it time for her to meet her nephew? I can only imagine what her reaction would be… 😀

    1. Lethe isn’t the most suave diplomat.
He just calmed her down a bit.
And now she will meet her Nephew.
Who is the son of an Imaran Noble.
Whos subsidary father is dying because of Lethe.

Yeah, can’t see how that could get Adrianna rilled up.

      1. Oh my. When you put it that way… o___o

      2. Well, you know, I’m an eternal optimist. I like to think this won’t all end horribly in tears and missing limbs.

        1. Indeed it won’t, it will end in tears and missing limbs replaced with cool prosthetics:
          *singing*
          O Robohand, O Robohand
          wie treu sind deine Finger!
          Du ballt nicht nur
          zur Kriegenzeit,
Nein auch im Ashur, wenn es regn’t.
          O Robohand, o Robohand,
          wie treu sind deine Finger!

        2. Welches Finger ist das?

        3. Oh well, it’s a german song of sorts.

          O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
          wie treu sind deine Blätter!
Du grünst nicht nur zur Sommerzeit,
nein, auch im Winter, wenn es schneit.
          O Tannenbaum,o Tannenbaum,
          wie treu sind deine Blätter!

          O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
          du kannst mir sehr gefallen.
Wie oft hat nicht zur Weihnachstzeit
ein Baum von Dir mich hoch erfreut!
          O Tannenbaum,o Tannenbaum,
          du kannst mir sehr gefallen!

          O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
dein Kleid will mich was lehren:
          Die Hoffnung und Beständigkeit
gibt Kraft und Trost zu jeder Zeit.
          O Tannenbaum,o Tannenbaum,

It’s about fir trees that or reliable for still bein green when everything else is smothered in snow.
Third part is about how this green admist all the white snow and barebranched trees teaches one not to loose hope, and to abide what might come.

          Trivia lesson ends here 😀

  3. Maybe they’ll get there for the flaming showdown !
(But they’d better hurry, if that guy with the big sword is after them.)
    Gosh! -Another lovely page-

  4. Hopefully Lethe still has enough sense of self preservation to not introduce Adrianna to her illegitimate nephew.

But that hasn’t stopped Lethe in the past…

  5. So, I know you use a tablet, but I am wondering if you can elaborate on your technique for going from pencil/line sketch to finished page. Your work is simply gorgeous! Thanks!

    1. Sure, happy to. 🙂 I did some art tutorials (they’re in the extras section) about a year ago on my general technique, but my inking method has changed quite a bit since then. Basically I sketch in Photoshop at the final web size (600×900) and then ink over the sketch at four times that size (2400×3600) in Manga Studio. Manga Studio is just so much nicer for inking I can’t even begin to describe it. Very much like inking with a brush, it’s super nice.

After that, my colouring technique is pretty similar to what the tutorials describe. If you have any specific questions I’d be happy to answer though.

      1. Rose, please don’t hurt your hand (or wrist) because THEN there won’t be any updates at all ! ! ! I’d be much happier if you just took your time and didn’t push for output until you get an easier method that isn’t so finger and hand straining.

  6. Wait, here was me thinking that Lethe didn’t know about Airin. And if not, then he can’t be dragging Adrianna off for a big family reunion – he would have to have some other, equally bright plan instead.

I guess I have no evidence that he doesn’t know, though; and he does have some intense faces in the page where he sees the kid playing in the water. But there were a few other little matters that he could have been intense about just then… Huh.

  7. I just read your archive, this is an excellent comic.

  8. Lethe: Do you see? Here, the rain stays mainly on the plain!
Not up in the damn air, crashing down on us all the time!
    This place is super nice!

(Halfway through that I realized I was picturing Lethe talking like a Gunnerkrigg pigeon 😀 )
