The Comic Creator’s Alliance donations drive that I mentioned in the last update is now live!

“We’re a group of Web Comic Creators, who have come together, volunteering our artistic talents to raise money for the purpose of ending human trafficking in the world today.

There are currently 27 million enslaved people worldwide- more than double the number of enslaved Africans during the trans-Atlantic slave trade. UNICEF estimates that 1.2 million children every year are sold into slavery, most of it sexual. The US Department of Justice estimates 16,000 victims of human trafficking are brought into the United States every year.

Web Comic Creators from all over the world are working together on a single drawing which will be available as a downloadable wallpaper for readers who donate to our fund raising drive!”

Sorry for the delayed update, I had to stick the page on the back burner while dealing with an extremely important coursework deadline for university. I’ve got one more on Friday and then the coast is clear… phew.

Also, hello to all the folks that came over from SMBC! My head is still ringing from the traffic spike.

    And does Mr MilitaryMan look so displeased at the mention of the slight possibilty of the person they are seeking for being dead?
    And why does she look more sad than angry in the last panel? I mean she doesn’t know if he is dead, right?

      Yes, you did, here and here, but I’ll let it slide. 🙂

      Also, you basically answered your own questions – they’re looking for the guy and he might be dead, would you be happy? The “why” of why they’re looking for them is the million dollar question of the comic, but he wouldn’t have an airship and a colonel trailing him if it weren’t important.

      And she’s sad because A) it’s a crappy situation and B) her brother might be dead.

    Still brill, and waiting for the next one. Dammit, why must beauty and good writing take so LONG to update?!

    …I know, I know, don’t test the artist. ;P
    It’s just that this is the one webcomic (with a plotline, I mean) that I’ve been really able to get into, so I’m kinda pissed at myself that I read through all that you have just yesterday. >.<

      Wow! Nice to hear you’re enjoying it so much, even if the update schedule is infuriating you. 🙂 I’m basically going full-tilt at this, so rest assured that as soon as I have the time to update more, I will. Hopefully once my classes wrap up sometime in May I can shift to Monday/Wednesday/Friday or better. If it helps, I was doing five pages a week for a while, I’m hoping to try that again around June.

      Thanks! 🙂 I like that panel too, the hands came out really well for whatever reason. I think hands often get overlooked since they’re hard to draw, but a lot of the time they’re really expressive as part of general body language. (Personally I love drawing hands, but I’m weiiird)

      I was actually really disappointed when I finished reading the submission guidelines on the site you linked. They had me right up until compensation – $10 a month is beyond insulting. RMR isn’t exactly paying the bills, but I’m still making more than ten times that from advertising, plus I retain publishing rights on everything which doesn’t seem to be the case here, and is a huge deal.

      On the other hand, I love the idea of a 52 page short story kind of comic. I might try and do something RMR-related if I can muster up the free time, but I’d be putting it here on my site, not on someone else’s.

        :\ Yeah, I hadn’t fully read it when I sent it to you! I saw ’$10 per month’ and thought “what the shit? Making a comic is a lot more in depth than writing a short story. It should be $10 for each page!’

        Still, doing a 52 page anthology over a year from various comic artists and making it into a thick-arse book would be pretty satisfying. Even a massive PDF would be kind of neat. X3

        Anyways, back to work on the current projects! (And I’m looking forward to finding out what this million-dollar-question winds up being. I love how easy it is to get wrapped up in your world. 🙂 You are doing a great jorb!)

        Yes, you are right about the importance of hands and I am glad you always manage to make your characters express what is going on with them so well using hands and poses. It adds so much. Like on this last panel of Adrianna, because of her hands and body, she seems a lot more “closed” than ever before, which immediately caught my eye when reading/viewing this page. Like, ah, something is different now, she seems to hold herself differently than ever before we have seen her, like within herself and unsure.
