A couple of new faces, the Commander and the Envoy.

New characters! I had a bunch of fun designing these guys, I’ll be posting up some related concept art on my
tumblr shortly.

Also new vote incentive, provided by awesome commenter Ink. It’s the final panel of page 19 with some… alternate dialogue. I feel like in some alternate universe Ezius would absolutely be an obnoxious salesman. What would you do for a klondike bar?

  1. Yaaay! New page! Today is a good day ^__^

  2. A shirt and tie? Whoa, new stuff. I think?

Also I am loving the Commander’s hair in the last panel. It looks so healthy and springy 😛

    1. You can probably just assume he’s the only character in the comic so far who’s bothered to dress up in the slightest.

  3. I am ashamed of what I would do for a Klondike bar.

That’s a fantastic set of eyebrows the Envoy has. He’ll fit right in.

    1. Excellent eyebrows are a must, obviously!

  4. The Envoy looks… british? 😉

And for the new votebait: Great!! Keep ´em coming!

    1. Alas, I have to say that most of us Brits don’t look so dapper.

      1. Heh. 😉 Do you Scots really refer to yourself as “british”?
Or, wait one, i may confuse “british” with “english”… -> sure i do! Now i remember – holidays, long ago we were on a camping-site in Italy, soccer-worldchampionship, and the eleven chic^H^H^H^H^three Lions were steamrollerd by the Germans, and watching TV with us were some Scots, who were on OUR side! That was big fun. The aftermath also, ´cause there were english lads, too. >:-))

        Three cheers for you Scots!

        1. Some of us do, it’s a matter of some contention. Either way, it’s technically correct (the best kind of correct) since Scotland is part of the island of Britain… you know, barring any unforeseen natural disasters that see us go floating off into the sea.

As for siding against England, that’s any good Scot’s duty!

        2. Hehe, thanks for enlightening me. Interesting topic, i think i´ll get into reading about english/british/welsh/allofthat history to learn more.

  5. Wonderful art, as ever. I’m glad to hear that your hand’s better!

    1. Thank you! And yes, me too, very much so.

  6. Is it just me, or does the Envoy look like Vincent Price? o.O

Anyway, great comic! The art is simply amazing, and the story is really intriguing. Can’t wait to see more!

    1. I’m 100% OK with this comparison. Thanks very much!

  7. My biggest critique is that it seems to end as I scroll down. Hopefully that’s just a bug.

The story is gripping, with stellar pacing. It slows suspense-fully and moves swiftly when it feels like it should.

The art is exquisite. Your new style suits the atmosphere of the story and I am impressed by the lack of black borders and outlines when you can manage it. I haven’t seen that since Samurai Jack.

Don’t stop, and see if someone would put your first 14 chapters into a graphic novel. I think your story would look good in print.

    1. Sounds like a caching issue on your end, I hear about this happening every so often but it’s not a hosting or website issue for sure, otherwise it would be affecting other people. Try flushing your cache, restarting your browser and loading the page again. 🙂

Also, thank you! I’m very glad you’re enjoying reading it. Very flattered by the Samurai Jack comparison! That art has some style.

As for the graphic novel, do rest assured I’m working on it.

      1. No no, I just meant the comic ends at the bottom of the page.

        Bad attempt at humour.

        1. Ha, sorry! I’ve had people say that sometimes the images half-load and I end up helping them troubleshoot browser issues, so I guess I just jumped right to that. My bad.

But seriously, thank you very much. 🙂

  8. Damn, the envoy is even sexier than good old iron hand. Rose, I think you’ve out done yourself!

  9. Mhhh, I don’t know how to explain that, but I smell the scent of a brand new printed comic. I’m not suggesting you should print it (but wouldn’t weep if you did, either), it’s just that that smell invaded my nostrils when I saw this page. Dunno why.
